There are no shortage of educational opportunities in Wayne County.  The College of Wooster, University of Akron and The Ohio State University all have campuses in our community providing degree programs in a wide variety of fields of study.  In additional, the national largest research insititution dedicated to the agbiosciences in the Ohio Agriculatural Research and Development Center  is located within our borders.
 

The College of Wooster
The College of Wooster is America's premier college for mentored undergraduate research. Wooster offers an excellent, comprehensive liberal arts education, culminating in a rigorous senior project, in which each student works one-on-one with a faculty mentor to conceive, organize and complete a significant research project on a topic of the student's own choosing. Through this distinctive program, every Wooster student develops abilities valued by employers and graduate schools alike: independent judgment, analytical ability, creativity, project-management and time-management skills, and strong written and oral communication skills. Founded in 1866, the college enrolls approximately 2,000 students.

The Ohio State University | Agricultural Technical Institute

The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute (Ohio State ATI) is the associate-degree-granting unit of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences and is a nationally-ranked producer of two-year degrees in agriculture and related sciences. In addition to the 50-acre central campus, Ohio State ATI comprises the Grace Drake Agricultural Laboratory in Apple Creek and Hawk’s Nest Golf Course in Creston. Ohio State ATI also has a highly-respected workforce development unit, Business Training and Educational Services (BTES) (http://ati.osu.edu/btes), which provides customized training that can lead to improved quality, increased productivity, decreased waste, increased sales, improved communications, and reduced downtime for Northeast Ohio businesses and institutions. BTES also offers a CPA Greenbelt Certification program.

 

The Ohio State University | Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center
Located in Wooster, the OARDC is the 2000+ acre research institution of The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. The OARDC is committed to safe, healthy, and affordable food and agricultural products; sustainable food and agricultural systems; strong rural and urban communities; stewardship of natural resources and the environment; keeping Ohio positioned favorably in a global economy. This center is home to research projects ranging from plant and animal sciences to human ecology and medicine, and is part of a network of research stations located across the state.
 

University of Akron | Wayne College
Located in Orrville, Wayne College is the only regional branch of The University of Akron. Wayne College has extensive general education offerings, including associate's degrees, baccalaureate preparation, continuing education programs, and technical education programs for residents of Wayne County and other local areas.
